2010_Summer AAA_(San Jose)

Updated 8/25 12:15AM

Welcome to the AAA-SJ division site. You may click on the SCHEDULE/SCORES, STANDINGS, or PLAYER STATS link in the lefthand navigation panel for the information from this division only.

You may also go back to the 2010 Summer season homepage for all of the league-wide information.

AAA-SJ playoff brackets

WED 8/25 (12:15AM) -- We're down to our last three teams...

MON 8/16 (12:45PM) -- Here's the latest and greatest. Elusive and SBYI drop down to the Losers Bracket, where Shohoku is already waiting. Since SBYI has the higher seed than Elusive, Elusive must play against Shohoku first, then the winner faces SBYI. Again, in Dream League we avoid back-to-backs as much as possible, so expect at least a one-hour break in between those games. The Winners Bracket is pretty self-explanatory.

MON 8/9 (11:30PM) -- Here are the brackets per the results from 8/8...

That means the matchups for 8/15 are...

p2-WB: #4 Elusive at #1 24 Monstars
p2-WB: #3 South Bay Youth Inc. at #2 Block Party
p2-LB: bye: #5 Shohoku

Shohoku gets a bye because there are no other teams with double-elimination status to play against yet. You can see the dates in the bracket above. If we need a repeat championship, we will have it on 9/12 assuming either team is not playing in the Vegas tournament.

AAA-SJ playoff seedings

TUE 8/3 (11:45PM) -- Here are the playoff seeds for the matchups this Sun 8/8...
  1. 24 Monstars (6-1) -- won head-to-head vs BlkP
  2. Block Party (6-1) -- lost head-to-head vs 24M, won Western Conf
  3. South Bay Youth Inc. (5-2)
  4. Elusive (4-3) -- won head-to-head vs Shoh
  5. Shohoku (4-3) -- lost head-to-head vs Elus
  6. TSA Santa Clara (2-5)
  7. Team San Jose (1-6)
  8. Barracuda Networks (0-7)
Pretty straightforward rankings and tiebreakers. Kinda funny how the tiebreakers were resolved by debut-week head-to-heads.

Here are your matchups for the first round this Sun 8/8. Remember, the teams that finished above .500 get double-elimination status, everyone else is one-and-done...

playoffs1: #5 Shohoku at #4 Elusive
playoffs1: #6 TSA Santa Clara at #3 South Bay Youth Inc.
playoffs1: #7 Team San Jose at #2 Block Party
playoffs1: #8 Barracuda Networks at #1 24 Monstars

AAA-SJ season roadmap

FRI 7/23 (12:45PM) -- Well, we couldn't do the makeups back on 7/4 in the previous post below, so we'll do them next week 8/1. Roadmap updated as such.

TUE 6/22 (2:45PM) -- We're all set to go with a really tight schedule. However, the following teams had delays -- some minor, some major -- in getting off the blocks and jumping on the train in time...

TSA Santa Clara at Block Party
Team San Jose at South Bay Youth Inc.

As a result, we need to reschedule these two games and these four teams that were skipped over on 6/13. My hope is that it can be 7/4. I've left an email with the captains. If they can't do it on 7/4, then they will be subject to a doubleheader makeup, or perhaps a cancellation of the game with a pro-rated refund.

BYES: Byes are only allowable
under special circumstances.

If you have a bye later in the season
that is not a formally requested bye,
due to gym fluctuations and other
unforeseen circumstances, that bye is
not locked down; that week's block
of games can still be shuffled around
as necessary until you formally request
that week to be a bye for your team.

GROUND RULES:
1. Please make sure the number of
red rows (games moved from) equals
the number of green rows (games
moved to).
2. Make sure you have 7 regular
season games listed with your
team name.
3. The last 1 or 2 of 7 regular
season games are usually encoded
as inter-conference or other
special type of matchup.
4. The playoffs are pretty much
nailed down, barring unforeseen
circumstances (i.e., no byes!)
5. Any special late bye requests at
this point will require permission
from other teams to shuffle them
around.
6. Special late bye requests can
*usually* be accommodated if your
team plays a double-header some
other week. But sometimes it
depends on if your opponent is
also stuck with a double-header.
