DEDICATION TO A TEAM MOM
COMMISSIONER'S MESSAGE: Thanks to all of you for making this foray into Sin City a highly competitive and enjoyable one, plus very smoothly run thanks to good sportsmanship, top-notch refs, gym directors, and scorekeepers. Let's stay in touch and we look forward to seeing you in about five months!
SEPTEMBER 6, 2004 -- The Vegas ABL Select team defended its home turf by defeating the East Bay Cardinals, 68-44, in the NL/AL division championship.
Meanwhile, at first glance it seemed like Raffy Consing missed the memo about the competitive level of the AAA, but the Bay Area HEADS managed to pull together quite an extraordinary squad at the last minute and took care of an almost equally extraordinary Pure Foods team. It should be noted that the HEADS' Francis Machica scored 45 points against the Alameda Runners in one of the semifinal games, a tally which is believed to be the most points ever scored in a Dream League game (more research will be required to confirm this).
Also, our roving reporter S. Audacity Smith also gives us some insights on the Vegas tournament!
