JANUARY 14, 2004 -- Game notes from last night...

BBCC vs Beacon: Wow, what a display by Beacon...they proved that they are championship-caliber...Jerry Showers was 7-for-11 from three-point land and scored 26 pts for Beacon...Maurice Brown led Beacon with 31 pts, 18 rebounds, and 3 blocks, including a highlight-reel reverse put-back dunk!...Good thing we caught that one on tape -- thanks to our kid MYEEP (Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program) worker, James Love for manning the camcorder...Roy Byrd of BBCC was held to 6 pts and 6 reb...Jairus Michael led BBCC with 19 pts and 10 reb...Unsung hero for Beacon has got to be Randy Moharram, who had 6 assists but more importantly held Ken Jennings to "just" 6 three-point attempts...Jennings had a season-low 12 pts.

Bomb vs Hooligans: Luke Gordon led the Hooligans with 33 pts on 7-for-12 three-point shooting...Everett Johnson added 20 pts and Paul Foster had 12 rebounds...Chris Harris was also hot from the arc, scoring 27 pts on 7-for-11 from threes...Bomb Squad was once again undermanned, with only five guys and no Scott Cairns.
