December 15, 2006 – Brooklyn, NY (DL) – The New York Heatkeepers weren’t really the Heatkeepers and the Virginia Young Gunz weren’t themselves either as VA defeated the Heat 58-46 behind a tournament high 31 points from KK Peters.

The Heatkeepers, who had members of their team injured in car accident the night before, were replaced by a new group of players who kept their team name on a moment’s notice thus creating massive confusion to anyone following closely who noticed all the new names and faces for this game.

Good thing most people don’t follow that closely.

Peters didn’t care who his team was playing, in this game, he was in a zone.

Mir is harrassed.

Peters lit up the Heatkeepers for 8 in the 1st period, 12 by half, and then really poured it on in the 2nd half with 11 in the 3rd and 8 in the 4th as Virginia won their first game of the round robin pool by getting out to a lead and holding it this time (thus the reference of them not being themselves.)

The Young Gunz didn’t commit their first foul of the game until the 4th quarter thus keeping the Heat from the line for only 4 free throw attempts for the entire game.

Vishapreet Singh led the Heat with 10 points and 15 rebounds as they finished with an unfortunate 0-3 record in pool play (one loss was due to forfeit.)

Saad Mir had 8 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists for Virginia.
