AAA-V Cheep Thoughts from 6/1

6/13/2008 4:00PM

Remember Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey from Saturday Night Live? Well, here's the Bay Area dreamleague's weekly version: Cheep Thoughts. A collection of my thoughts on each game as I go thru the scoresheets and post scores on the website. One-plus minute per game multipled by about 45-50 games and I can knock this beast out in an hour -- yeah right, it always ends up being double. The idea here is that I do not spend hours upon hours of time coming up with game articles...

AAA-V: SFFD beat Done Deal, 49-43 in overtime, overcoming 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 steals from Done Deal's Ricci Miles. Miles was held scoreless in overtime as Ed Yup nailed a trey and some free throws, along with 4 out of a total team-high 12 points from John Choy. Yup erased a miserable 12 straight missed field goals through regulation... Just Crushing It forfeited to the Poorcats, handing the Poorcats the #1 seed while at the same time dooming themselves (JCI, that is) to single-elimination playoff status with a sub-.500 finish... The AAARs outscored Got5 12-4 in the 4th quarter to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Mike Yang atoned for a miserable 1-for-8 in the 1st half to finish things off with 12 of his eventual 14 points in the 2nd half, 10 of them in the final frame. The 6-on-5 affair (guess which team had 5) ended with Got5's Ryan Dang with ZERO treys and 6 turnovers and Mike Glass leading the way with 16 points. With all due respect to Glass, if he's leading Got5 in scoring, then something's amiss. Kevin Lee led the AAARs on the boards with 10 rebounds.
