Sick-ass adidas Kobe IIIs
So I was randomly researching stuff recently when I came across the adidas Kobe IIIs shown in the picture above, which were never released because Kobe jumped ship. Maybe you knew this already, but I had no idea how sick these are/were. And let's not forget that the now-defunct Kicksology.net raved about the performance of Kobe I. If they released the Kobe III (or whatever they'd call it), I might have to jump ship myself, being a loyal Nike wearer since the Air Force III followed by the Air Revolution followed by -- well, I could go on for days. And no, I'm not a sneakerhead. That's a little pet peeve of mine that I'll save for a longer rant on dreamblogue someday.
Here's the link to the Kobe III for close-ups and a short explanation...

TrueHoop today (swear to God I posted the Kobe III before seeing anything this morning on TrueHoop) referenced this awesome piece about the next round of Sneaker Wars...

Looks like Kobe (or Durant) could very well go back to adidas and we may yet see these Kobe IIIs.
One thing I don't agree with in the article: Nike or adidas not wanting to pony up LeBron-like numbers.
C'mon, according to recent SportsBusiness Journal articles, Nike's budget for endorsements is now $2.5 billion (it was $2.1 billion not too long ago, meaning they added another $400 million to that pot practically overnight).
Drop in the bucket, folks. It's just a blank-check bidding war. And they can diss LeBron's contract cuz I just haven't seen anything that says the Lebrons have been selling like hotcakes. I'll bet Melo's shoes have been selling better.
Kobe should go back to adidas for his own sake. He can be the face of adidas. At his level, it shouldn't be about the money. He has an image to restore. He can be a hero again as the adidas guy.
